Sibenik is a well-preserved, medium-sized town on the southern Adriatic coast

and is one of the largest metropolises in the Dalmatia region. Sibenik is located directly on the sea and has a port, which lies at the foot of the historic town and extends to the new part of Sibenik. Sibenik benefits from not being directly on the open sea, but in a sheltered bay. The area around the harbor is particularly beautiful in the evening hours, when the sun slowly disappears behind the horizon and the city slowly comes to life. Numerous restaurants, bars and cafes decorate the promenade and invite you to linger and enjoy.

If you want to spend the day swimming and sunbathing, Sibenik is the right place for you. Numerous beautiful beaches are waiting for sun seekers in the region. Sibenik even has its own city beach, Banj Beach. The view of the panorama of the city is beautiful. There is also a wide range of sporting activities. Those who prefer a fine sandy beach can recommend the four-kilometer-long Solaris beach. For those particularly interested in sports, the Rezaliste beach is a good option. It is located six kilometers outside of Sibenik and offers a wide range of sports.

Sightseeing definitely get their money's worth in Sibenik. There are countless historical witnesses to marvel at. Fortresses, monuments, buildings or museums are waiting for the visitors. But also monasteries, palaces and churches bear witness to the millennia-old history of the region. Particularly noteworthy is the Cathedral of St. Jacob. It took over a hundred years to build. Sibenik is considered a cultural center and numerous artists have their roots in the Croatian city. The old part of the city welcomes visitors with narrow and winding streets and impresses with its medieval charm. Numerous shops and restaurants can be found there and invite you to linger. A trip to the Sveti Mihovil Fortress should not be missed. The old fortress lies high above the city and offers a breathtaking view of the city and the sea with its islands.

A visit to the numerous islands in the Bay of Sibenik is ideal for a day trip. Boats go daily in the direction of the islets and bring visitors comfortably and quickly to their destination. You can relax and enjoy the day on these idyllic islands.

A trip to the Krka National Park is also highly recommended. This is not far from Sibenik and offers wonderful landscapes, beautiful forests and the beautiful Krka River. Its peculiarity are the seven waterfalls that amaze every visitor. Some waterfalls shoot from great heights into the water below, while others can only be seen when the river is in high water. You can sometimes swim in the river. Ideal if you need to cool down during a hike. There are numerous sights from bygone times to be marveled at along the river.
