Bilice on the edge of Krka National Park

The pretty town of Bilice is located on the edge of the Krka National Park in an idyllic bay called Stubali. Bilice has been largely spared from mass tourism to this day, which gives the place a special charm. The inland sea called Prokljan Lake is fed by the Krka and Guduća rivers. During the tides, a narrow influx from the sea feeds the inland sea with salt water from the Adriatic. The quiet and sheltered location is particularly suitable for children and those who do not particularly appreciate the sometimes rough conditions of the sea. The maximum water depth in the bathing bay is usually a maximum of two and a half meters, which gives the water pleasantly warm bathing temperatures in spring. The view of the lake and the surrounding area is breathtakingly beautiful and nature shows itself in all its splendor. If you want to go on holiday with your four-legged friend, this is also the right place for you. Dogs are even allowed on beaches just outside the village.

Bilice is embedded in a wonderful landscape. This is suitable for walks, excursions or hikes. In the nearby national park with its gigantic waterfalls, particularly beautiful hikes can be undertaken. Especially on hot days it is cool and pleasant in the woods. It is worth postponing the more strenuous activities to the early hours of the morning and then ending the day with a swim in the lake. There are numerous fortress ruins, mills and other historical witnesses to marvel at along the Krka River. Bicycle tours can also be undertaken in the area. There are a couple of signposted routes for this. The tours are also suitable for children. So it makes sense to go on an excursion at the beginning of the day and then end the day by the sea with swimming, playing and relaxing.

Despite the tranquility of Bilice, the local infrastructure is good. There are supermarkets, shops and a couple of restaurants. Immediately near the water there are a couple of lovely local restaurants and cafes where Croatian delicacies can be enjoyed. While in other places it is sometimes busy, in Bilice it remains cozy and quiet, which is particularly appreciated by holidaymakers. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the right place for you.

The village of Sibenik is only eight kilometers away. A trip to the pretty town is definitely worth it. Also the larger cities of Zadar and Split are not too far away, so that these can be visited in a day trip. Just Split awaits with a very well-kept and idyllic old town, which with its picturesque and winding streets invites you to discover and linger.
