Dugi Rat is located in Dalmatia on the Croatian Adriatic Sea and belongs to the county Split-Dalmatia.
There are three villages in the municipality. Dugi Rat is very close to Omis, another municipality known for its tourism. The place is rather quiet and the large number of tourists does not come.

But it is precisely this that makes the municipality a popular holiday destination for families who like to spend quiet days by the sea. The place has a pebble beach, which is popular with bathers and families like to spend the hot days by the water, where the children can cool down in the sea and the adults can lie in the shade and rest. Sports fans will definitely get their money's worth in town. Various water and land sports are offered and there is definitely something for everyone.

Numerous wine bars

In Dugi Rat there is a well-known and popular local restaurant, which is known far beyond the municipality for its local specialties from the water and from the land. A visit is definitely recommended. What is typical of the region are the numerous wine bars where you can enjoy local wine and local dishes.

Only 16 km from Split remote

Nearby is the second largest city of Dalmatia, Split. A visit is definitely a must. Split awaits with a beautiful, very well-preserved and well-kept old town. A stroll through the cool alleys and between the buildings made of light, beige-red stone can only be recommended.

Trogir is also very close. Known for its museums, the city offers interesting exhibitions, but also historical buildings and monuments are not long in coming. The port of Trogir is known and loved and many international ships and yachts dock there. It is interesting to watch the beautiful and impressive ships. The children will definitely like that too.

Variety of outdoor activities

It is worth it. The idyllic surroundings around Dugi Rat offer a lot of variety and nature for the whole family. The forests and beautiful landscapes invite you to go on a tour of discovery, a walk or a hike. On hot summer days it is pleasantly cool in the woods and you can escape the stream of tourists. The region is also very suitable for bike tours. Be it leisurely on the flatter country roads or on bike trails - both are possible and appropriate bikes can be hired.
