There are many beaches on the island of Ciovo and in Okrug Gornji. One of them even bears the name “Copacabana” and is impressive with its two kilometers in length. It runs flat into the sea and is therefore particularly suitable for families with small children. There is also the possibility of practicing various water sports.

Lush forests and vegetation

The forests and vegetation around Okrug Gornji are particularly lush and it is a good idea to spend a hot summer day in the shady, cool forests. A walk, a hike or a bike tour offer a change from the days on the beach and are also well suited for children, as the terrain is rather flat, or flat routes are always available and you can easily avoid the hills.

In addition, Okrug Gronji has a picturesque fishing port. The best view can be enjoyed from a hill, which is 220 meters above sea level and from where an imposing view over the entire region and far out to sea awaits. A little outside is the pilgrimage church, which was built directly into a rock.

Okrug Gornji on the island of Ciovo

However, they go there and back several times a day, which is why such an excursion can be booked without any problems and is definitely recommended. There are many restaurants, taverns and bars in the village, which pamper guests with delicacies from the region and healthy Mediterranean food. A visit is also highly recommended for friends of seafood and fish. Nowhere else can you find these dishes fresher than right by the sea.
