Omiš - an ideal starting point for sporting activities

Omis is located in the south of Croatia. The mouth of the Cetina flows there into the Adriatic Sea. 
The city is a well-known tourist destination. The next bigger city Split is 25 kilometers to the west. The city in Dalmatia has an eventful past. It was also settled at an early stage, as traces from that time show. The port city used to be a well-known pirate's nest.

The proximity to the Italian city of Venice often led to raids at sea. The Venetian sea trade was thereby seriously endangered. The city has a historical old part that is well preserved and picturesque to look at. Above the city are the remains of two fortresses from the 13th and 15th centuries. These can still be viewed today. Omis is an up-and-coming holiday destination and the offer is growing every year. The newly built motorway also makes the place easy to reach. From Omis you can quickly reach the nearby mountains or starting points for excursions.

Known for numerous sports and leisure activities 

The resort is well known for its numerous sports that can be practiced. Be it on the water or on the land, the offer is huge and there is definitely something for everyone. A 20-kilometer-long riviera leads from the place along the coast and invites you to stroll, stroll and stroll. There are countless restaurants and cafes on the promenade. If you need a break, stop by, have a cold drink or indulge yourself with Croatian delicacies. In the evening, various bars invite you to have a nightcap. The larger sandy beach is 800 meters long and consists of natural sand, which is particularly pleasant if you are traveling with children. But also numerous other picturesque beaches and beautiful bays with crystal clear deep blue water invite you to a day on the sandy beach.

Cetina gorge

A special highlight is the Cetina Gorge. The turquoise blue river meanders through the gorge, surrounded by lush forests. As a highlight, there are historical mills from the 17th and 18th centuries to marvel at. There is even a restaurant where you can stop if you need to.

A boat tour on the Cetina is highly recommended. Crystal clear water between lush, shady trees awaits the day trippers. You instantly feel in a jungle and enjoy a few cool hours on the water, surrounded by breathtaking nature.
