Vinisce is a small village in Dalmatia on the Adriatic coast.
It belongs to the county Split-Dalmatia and is about 19 kilometers from Trogir and 48 kilometers from Split removed. The place is between Sibenik and Split on a peninsula. The headland surrounded by the sea is popular with tourists.

Besides the income from tourism, Vinisce lives mainly from fishing. Those who like to have fish on their menu are guaranteed to get freshly caught. Vinisce has existed since the early beginning of the 13th century, records show. On the basis of historical finds, however, it is assumed that the place was settled much earlier.

Marienkirche from 1272

One of the sights of Vinisce is definitely the St. Mary's Church, built in 1272. There are also churches and historical monuments that are impressive to look at and give the place its charm. Those who like it a bit sportier will definitely get their money's worth. You can play basketball or volleyball on land and try sailing or jet skiing on the water. The surrounding nature invites you to go hiking and cycling. The terrain is varied and so there is something for everyone, regardless of whether it is sporty or demanding or rather a bit cozy.

Pebble and sandy beaches

There are many beaches in and around Vinisce. In addition to pebble beaches, the place also offers the popular sandy beaches, which are located in small picturesque bays and let you forget everyday life. Bathing in the crystal clear sea water, surrounded by idyllic nature, allows everyone to relax. Children enjoy the amount of sand that they can play with and build sandcastles with.

In summer there are many celebrations and festivals in Vinisce. The joie de vivre of the local population can be experienced first hand. Local dishes and local delicacies are served. The regionally grown wine is highly recommended, even if it is practically unknown outside of Croatia.

Trogir, Split and Rogoznica nearby

The nearby town of Trogir should definitely be visited. There are countless museums and cultural legacies such as historical buildings and structures to marvel at in the city. The picturesque harbor also has a lot to offer, with large ships docking here and there. Rogoznica is also well worth a visit. The place, located on an island, has a pretty coastal promenade and an imposing old town with its stone houses, which were built many years ago and are impressive to look at.

Dragon Eye Lake

An excursion to the Dragon's Eye Lake should not be missed. The lake is filled with salt water as it is connected to the sea via an underground tunnel. The ebb and flow of the tide take place analogously to the sea, when the water flows in or out of these tunnels. An impressive spectacle that shows the beauty of nature in a particularly interesting way.
