Podaca is a tourist place located on the Adriatic tourist road 2 kilometers east of Zaostrog. Podaca consists of three parts of the village: Kapec, Viskovica vala and Ravanje with a total of 660 inhabitants. The population is initially oriented towards tourism, but they are also engaged in agriculture and olive cultivation. Comfortable houses, villas and apartments, some catering facilities are the basis for the tourist development of Podaca.
The old settlement of Podaca below the steep slopes of Biokovo is almost completely deserted. The place is mentioned for the first time in 1477th.

On the mountain in the old settlement at the foot of the mountain, the tower was built for defense against the Ottoman Turks, and nearby is the church of St. John in the cemetery, which was built by the noble Kacici. At the church of St. Juraj in Tucepi and at the church of St. Mihovil in Igrane there is one of the most important monuments of architecture from the early Middle Ages from the 12th century. At the entrance to the church there is a funerary monument with the name of Kacici, and nearby there is the medieval stone monument stecak-sljemenjak. St. Stjepan's Church from 1492 was destroyed in the 18th century. The present church was built on the same spot in 1772. After the earthquake in 1962, the church of Madonna of the Annunciation was enlarged by the sea.
